Interpretation Center

As a meeting place at the heart of the BIOSPHERE, The Connexions hall offers a unique multimedia experience. Equipped as a veritable transformable studio, the connexions hall utilizes an impressive array of technical abilities to create special effects. A six curved screen system suspended on a circular rail 18 meters in diameter at the room's peripheral limits. Another system of three video projectors is at the center of the room and moves along a circular rail with a diameter of 3 meters. The mobility of both the screens and the projectors allow for an amazing potential for creating visual effects. Each screen and projector has an integrated motion and control system. The electrical supply and the information transfer is conducted via a bus bar system. The control systems get their information from the central computer by a special type rs-485 communication protocol. An encoder mounted on the motor / reducer unit allows the controller to know the position at all times and control the various requested movements.

To ensure that maintenance remains simple,the controllers (mounted in Nema 4 cabinets)are all identical and utilize military type connectors for easy hook up. Furthermore, the control software can be downloaded from the central computer if a modification becomes necessary.
